A snack from the Kyushu Jigemon Kaido series. "Jigemon" means "local person (thing)" in Nagasaki dialect. Kyushu Jigemon Kaido is a Nagasaki-based snack made with Kyushu's specialty products, rich in nature, and in cooperation with Kyushu local confectionery manufacturers. "Uchiwa Ebi Sen" uses uchiwa shrimp, a specialty of Hirado City, Nagasaki Prefecture . It is said that the taste of uchiwa shrimp is as good as that of spiny lobster. The head of the shrimp is disc-shaped and looks like a "fan," which is why it is called uchiwa shrimp. The raw material is fresh uchiwa shrimp caught at Shijiki Fisheries Cooperative, located in the westernmost port of Japan. It is a rare uchiwa shrimp snack.
